The wood and pellet stove tax credit of 2016
was officially extended last week to include purchases made in 2017 of
qualifying wood and pellet stoves.
The bill reauthorizes, among other credits, the Sec. 25C tax
credit for non-business energy property.
The information we received is the following:
The $300 dollar-for-dollar credit is only good for a stove that’s
at least 75% efficient and purchased and installed before December 31, 2017;
Consumers should consult a tax professional about how to claim the
credit if they made a qualifying purchase in 2017.
